A Block
and Three Chips
works by Karl Kipp and his daughters Karen Stock,
Sandra Sattleberg and Barbara Baldo.
Upstairs Gallery
Artistic
talent has a tendency to run in families. Whether that is due to
genetics, parental influence, or both is a matter for debate. Whatever
the case there can be no doubt that it has struck the Kipp family. Working
primarily in graphite, the self taught Kipp has been drawing since
his childhood and his talent and desire for art has clearly rubbed
off on his three daughters Karen, Barbara, and Sandra.

"Creatively
and a desire to do things with our hands was a part of growing
up in the Kipp household," says Karen, "sometimes out
of necessity, other times just because one wanted something to
give someone else.
Barbara's
favorite medium is pencil. She enjoys drawing people in non-traditional
type portraits and especially enjoys reproducing old photos. She
now lives in Hume, New York
Sandra's
main interests are sewing and crocheting but a love of art "has
kept me drawing since childhood. Her preference is black and white
in ink but she enjoys experimenting with watercolors and oil pastels.
She currently resides in Sanborn.
Karen,
now living in Humphrey, New York enjoys all media and has no definite
favorite. She has done work in stained glass, wood working and
quilling amongst others.
Opening
reception was Friday, October 5th.
