- Additional
artists in the Artisan Alley at
the Market Street Art Center during the Open Studios
Art Trail.
- The Upstairs and Downstairs
Galleries at Market Street Art Center also
presented the 2nd annual “Off
the Wall,” Holiday Art Show, which will
sell "off-the-walls" and continue until
January 5, 2009. The “off the wall” in
the show’s title comes from a relaxing of a
rule customary in art shows as explained by Joseph
Buczkowski, executive director of the Market Street
Art Center: “Normally, when someone purchases
a piece of art work from an exhibition, they have
to wait until the end of the show to take it home.
That way patrons’ can continue to view and
enjoy the work for the duration of the show. With
the holidays approaching and people looking for gifts,
we suspended that rule, allowing the purchaser to
take the artwork home immediately.”

Director Sally Bisher of the Market Street Art Center

Jackson Square, a watercolor by E. Jane Stoddard, is
just one of the many works that will be on display
in the art center, galleries and studios participating
in the event.
