In the Upstairs Gallery Barbara Tanke presented “A Bit of the U.K.”  Originally from Elma, Barbara graduated from Westminster College in Pennsylvania with a B.A. with Honors in Art. She did her senior work in portraiture which remains her strong suit and main interest.  Some years ago she toured England, Scotland and Ireland and upon returning executed several paintings of the region.  This led to a one woman show in San Diego where she was living at the time.  Barbara, who returned to Western New York three years ago, continues to paint her favorite subjects.  “I just loved the U.K.,” says Tanke, I left my heart over there; so I paint what I remember, what I like and I hope others will as well.
