"Old Home Week"

In the third Gallery was “Hometown Heritage,” part of the week long Old Home Week celebration in Lockport. 

“The idea for the show came about simply from a desire to participate in the Old Home Week festivities,” says Sally Bisher, one of the directors of the art center.  “We have a long history of art down through the years from Raphael Beck and Olivia McConnell to Joseph Whalen and today’s emerging artists.

The theme of the show is simply “what does ‘home town’ mean to you?"  We were surprised by the diversity of responses.”  Fourteen artists in all were chosen to participate with works in a variety of media.  The show was judged by Charles Ossman.

The opening reception was held on Saturday, July 24th from 5 to 8pm.  During the reception there was a wine tasting hosted by The Winery at Marjim Manor and music by harpist Donna Aiken.

Gallery space is available to rent for artist or community exhibitions.
