The Mental Health Association Show June 19, 2010 to July 17, 2010
In the Upstairs Gallery was “TWIST - The Way I See This,” The Mental Health Association Show. “Art has a long history in helping people who suffer from mental illness,” says Joe Buczkowski, a Director at the art center. “It has been used both in diagnoses, to peer into the mind of the mentally ill, and in therapy, helping people to express what they are feeling and thinking. Art can be a bridge between so called ‘normal’ society and the mentally ill, a population that is often stigmatized by society.” Opening Reception was on Saturday, June 19th. | ||
